All the Wine in 2009

by Matt Watson last modified 2009-01-05 10:38

05 January 2009

Hi there fellow Guzzlers and welcome to 2009!

We’ve got a cracking year in store, with a heap of new tasting notes, stacks of blogs and some exciting articles and features on wine bars in Sydney, new wine regions and upcoming varieties you’ve just got to taste – and that’s just January…

We’ll shortly be publishing the results of our eagerly anticipated annual GWOTY* wine awards too; revealing the best (and worst) wines of 2008 - always a thought provoking and controversial affair.

This year we also aim to add more features (look out for the return of GuzzCast), more writers and reviewers (the Global Financial Crisis has presented us with a plethora of able bodied wine junkies from both London and New York who are, let’s face it, just keen for something to do), and more consistent content so you can log on fresh everyday and get more of what you love (although I understand Wayne is still considering an appropriate response to the constant requests for a photo of him nude!).

So, grab hold of your corkscrews and tune into what promises to be a spectacular year at the Guzzle.

Cheers

* For the uninitiated, GWOTY means the Guzzle Wine Of The Year

I knew I missed something out! I'm sure Mal would put his hand up for Mr January and most of my brother in laws will be fighting over who is Mr June. I'm quessing Hollio and Mr Lazario would be keen to participate too.

I'll take the roll of Mr December. Do they still make those 8ltr casks?

I'd be more than willing to offer my services for this 'shoot' matt but there is enough imagery of you on the world wide webb already to make your own calendar. Your inner rockstar - complete with long mangy hair, stonewash denim and heroin addiction - has been well documented on facebook recently. Rock On!

If Manzillians are accepted for the MoW calendar, I would be honoured to join in and book for a radical new coiffure. Hard though to decide between a Bleached South London Shark-fin or Transient Byron dreads

Manzillians

Manzillians are a pre-requisite, so you'll fit right in DL.
